Here you are: why not start here?

You are here

We want to know our location.

Whether we are at the local mall or at a sporting venue.

In order for us to get where we want to go, we first must know where we are.

It is essential to all of us.

Yet too often, we are moving so fast we never truly assess where we are.

We just can’t wait to get through to the next point.

Whatever that moment is, it becomes a point of reference and nothing more.

Never recognizing where you are, you never truly become aware of much else.

We need more

Becoming aware of where you are is only part of it.

We must also know how we got here.

The steps we have taken have brought us to this point.

Some of those steps were the best choice ever.

While others were a crap shoot.

Maybe some were just the best decision we could make with horrible information.

But once we figure out where we are and how we got where we are, we are ready to begin.

But we can’t

Many people hold off.

They procrastinate.

Convinced they will start when they are ready.

Or trap themselves into an endless hope for “SOMEDAY.”

So we wait.

Right?

We have all done it.

Made excuse after excuse.

Distracted by whatever happens to jump out in front of us.

We run. We hide. We shake it off.

We’ve come this far

Sidelined by fear, we hesitate.

To take just ONE more step.

Just ONE.

All beginnings are a little scary.

The momentum needed is at its lowest point.

This crossroads is familiar.

Where we must make a choice…

One that takes us back to where we once were or

To a place we want to be.

Even if we return to the normalcy found in our our comfort zone, we also understand the ache of “not knowing” could haunt us forever.

Start NOW

Imagine finding yourself at an amusement park.

Let’s say you are at Disneyland.

(I grew up going to Disneyland, so that is why I picked it.)

Once the employee has scanned your ticket, do you just stand there?

After you are inside the park, do you stand anywhere near the entrance?

Do you stand in the same place the entire day?

You move around.

Exploring every “land” and catching up with Mickey and Minnie.

There is so much to see at an amusement park like Disneyland, you might wonder,

“Where do I start?”

Well, that answer is simple…

Start here. Start NOW.
