Sometimes, we have to start over. There is no other choice. The game has changed and we decide we are no longer going to play by those rules. We take a stand and move forward in another direction. Other times, we just give up. We quit trying. It is easier, isn’t it? When we don’t see desired results, we figure “What’s the point? I am getting no where so I might as well just stop fooling myself.” But how many times do we quit and then start again? How many times have you started a diet or exercise regimen to quit 3 months into it because it is difficult? Because no one notices? How about quit smoking? Or tried to reach out to others you wish were more in your life? Then, what happens next year…you do the same thing over again!! We all do it. We just don’t like to admit it (even to ourselves) and especially don’t like it when we get called on it either. There are people in my life that are my heroes…and they never know it. People I know and others I will never know. People that make me extremely proud to know them and be apart of their lives. They do things I am certain I would not be strong enough to do. Maybe you are someone’s hero and you don’t even know it. Look around…don’t you see them? It’s ok, you never have to tell them. But you know. So the next time you want to throw in the towel and quit and you believe there is absolutely no more fight in you, think long and hard before you make that choice. Staying in it and finding the desire to keep going is hard. I would bet that “you are stronger than you think you are” and you know you are going to just end up starting over anyway. Keep the momentum going while you have it at your back, pushing you forward. Plus, you just might be what keeps others going as well.
