What do you not want to miss?

Are there people’s events and activities that you would just beat yourself up for if you missed being a part of them?  Missed sharing that special moment that can never be duplicated again with those people who are your world?  We will always have obligations and responsibilities that are required of us, no matter where we go.   Can you live with guilt and regret for not having done all you can to be a part of something that is so much bigger than you?  We all can recollect moments that we wish we could go back and do over and change something…maybe hold our tongue for words said…maybe hold onto that hand a little longer…maybe say “I love you” one more time.  I don’t want to miss having fun and being happy.  I choose both and “Be Happy” is my motto for this year and I am doing more things that make me happy without any guilt.  For years, I have put others first and although I never felt it to be a sacrifice or burden, I am expressing that this is my time.  I don’t want to wish I had done something that I should have.  That I had planned to do and did not muster the courage to do it.  I don’t want any of you to live that way either.  I missed out on so much before that I refuse to do it now.  I am reaching out to more people and make no excuses for it nor do I apologize for it either.  A few friends and I have decided to do something just for us in September and we are going to have a blast.  I am very looking forward to it.  I don’t want to miss getting to know these remarkable women better.  I look forward to laughing and enjoying the day.  I don’t want to miss every chance I get to watch my boys perform…whether it is on the field or the stage.  I remember a few years ago when I was debating about attending a national baseball tournament that our son was going to play in because I had work to do.  Ever glad I chose to drive to Lubbock, Texas and spend the week with my son.  That week was going to come once…work would be there when I get back.  What about you?  What are we letting rule our lives?  Why?  The people who we surround ourselves with have a but a few blips in our lives and we can never take them for granted.  EVER.  I don’t want to think I could have made someone’s day by giving them a hug or bringing them lunch, but I chose not to because it was easier.  I want to make sure that those people that mean the most are treated with my most.  So, again, I ask you…what do you not want to miss?  Then, don’t.
